Servings: 4 people

Ingredients for Salmon Salad:

Ingredients for Lemon Dill Salad Dressing:

Ingredients for Avocado Salmon Salad:

  • 1 romaine lettuce , (1 medium head or 6 cups chopped)
  • 1/2 English cucumber, sliced
  • 6 radishes, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 small red onion, (1/2 cup) thinly sliced
  • 2 avocados, pitted, peeled and sliced

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, whisk together dressing ingredients: 3 Tbsp lemon juice, 3 Tbsp olive oil, 2 Tbsp dill, 1 tsp sea salt and 1/8 tsp black pepper. Stir together and set aside.
  • Season both sides of salmon filets with 1 tsp garlic salt and 1/8 tsp pepper, or season to taste.
  • Heat 1/2 Tbsp oil in a large nonstick pan over medium heat. Once oil is hot, add salmon and cook 3-4 minutes per side or until golden and cooked through (cook time can vary depending on thickness of salmon filet). Remove salmon to a plate and spoon 1 teaspoon of the dressing over each filet. Set aside to cool to room temperature.
  • Arrange salad ingredients in the salad bowl: 6 cups romaine lettuce, sliced english cucumber, sliced radishes, 1/2 cup thinly sliced red onion, and sliced avocados. Drizzle with remaining lemon dressing and toss to combine. Divide between 4 plates and top each plate with a salmon filet.

    I’ve made several of your top notch salads, Presentation, tip, how-to, excellent. Do not like onions, I make the effort with the 2 very thin slices of red onion, I use thin slices of Sweet Vidalia onion, will try with scallion sliced thinly, Thank you for sharing.

    Dressing recipe needs changing. 1 tsp of salt was WAY too much. I literally needed to rinse the dressing off my salad to make it edible. I’d take it down to 1/4 tsp salt for your palette and health.

      Hi Jenn, you can add salt to taste but also keep in mind we use sea salt and if you use a finer salt like table salt, you would want to use a little less.

    AMAZING! I had some leftover grilled salmon from dinner last night along with a bin full of veggies. Popped online and came across this recipe. I had all the ingredients (substituting 2 tsp dried dill for the 2 tablespoons fresh) and threw it together for lunch. So good! With every bite I kept thinking it tasted as good as any salad I could get at a restaurant but it whipped up quick at home! Thanks for posting!

      We buy the frozen salmon filets in Costco freezer area. Each bag has individually wrapped salmon filets— ready for quick defrost and cook. We find them the perfect size and love our easy dinners.

      Hi Martha, You might try lime juice but I would use a little less or to taste since it has a little stronger flavor or try a basic vinaigrette to dress the salmon salad instead and it would still be very tasty!

    Hi Natasha! Do you think if I fried the salmon in an iron skillet it would be still okay? Don’t have much experience with them, as I just bought one today.       Hi Julie, you can use a seasoned cast iron skillet or a coated cast iron pan. Both will work, just make sure the oil is hot in the pan before adding the salmon and only turn it once. It tends to stick a little more in cast iron, but not terribly so. 🙂 I hope you LOVE the recipe!
