The twister jar is awesome for thicker mixtures like nut butters, ice cream and ofcourse these chocolate truffles! It has gotten some good use in our kitchen over the years. We love our Blendtec – it’s fiercely powerful and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone. I’ve given this blender to my parents and my in-laws and they all really love their blenders too :).
Great and easy recipe!! Love it! Made them today in advance for Valentines. 😍
Hi Yas! Thank you for the feedback. I’m glad you liked the recipe. 🙂
Hey there! I do not have the mixer you mentioned here..Can I use a Ninja food chopper or a regular hand mixer?
Hi Ashley, you could use an electric hand mixer and even a firm spatula if mixing by hand.
Hi Natasha,
I want to make those truffles but not sure what you mean by twist jar. I also have a new e-mail address (almost the same as the one you have now) If you have my other yahoo e-mail.
Hi Cheryl, The twister jar is a blender jar. It’s awesome for thicker mixtures like nut butter, ice cream, and of course these chocolate truffles!
Hi Natasha, can you freeze these truffles after making them?
Yana, yes these freeze well but you might want to sprinkle some fresh powdered sugar after thawing them.
Please can you tell me if these can be frozen? If so, should I freeze them before or after rolling them in their toppings and how should I do it?
Many thanks
Hi Daneen, I haven’t tried freezing them so it’s difficult to advise on that but I would add the toppings before freezing or the toppings would be difficult to adhere later.
My mix was uncovered in the fridge. Do i have to start over or is there a way to unharden it?
Hi Ashley, cover it right away to keep it from drying out and let it sit at room temperature until it reaches room temp and it should soften.
Just an added note to my previous comment, we have made batches using Kahluah, Bailey’s irish Creme, Brandy or Amaretto as the liqueur. These are amazing!
Great suggestions PJ!
I’m so happy you shared this recipe. We’ve enjoyed them for many years. 🙂 Now others can as well.
You’re welcome PJ! 🙂
My mom and I have been making these for more years than I can remember. They are the BEST Christmas treat in our family. We’ve coated them in instant coffee, ground nuts, coconut, powered sugar and even grated orange or lemon peel. Let your imagination go crazy, not TOO crazy, you still want to keep them elegant. You won’t regret making them.
I’m glad you enjoy these treats as much as my family does! Thanks for sharing PJ!
Hello, I’m wondering if I don’t have Liqueur can I use something else?
Hi Diana, you can use 3/4 tsp of vanilla extract 🙂
Thank you
Hiii natashaa…you are a good chef..profeshenal and kindness…i hope you be healt for ever…i am saeed from iran…i use your resepis from your site..i love cooking…..thx
You are very welcome and thank you for the compliment 😀
I what to make these again, cause last time when I tried to make them they were very sticky. I don’t have that kind of blender, would any kind of blender work,or mixer?
Hi Olga, you could use an electric hand mixer and even a firm spatula if mixing by hand. They might be stick if the proportions were altered of wet to dry ingredients. For an accurate measure on dry ingredients, make sure to use dry ingredient measuring cups where you can level the top. Also, refrigerating for 1 hour helps for the mixture to firm up a little and become easier to roll. I hope that helps!
How long will these truffles stay in fridge covered?I am hoping to use them over the weekend and making them on Monday. Thanks!
HI Supreet, the ingredients here are not easily perishable in the refrigerator. That should work fine 🙂
Hi,Natasha. I will be making this today how many choc truffles did u have in this recipes?
There are as many as are pictured. You can easily double the recipe if you need a bigger batch. 🙂
Thank you! I made it,but the batter is sticky, what did I do wrong,& what can I add to make it ferm,or to make balls? Merry Christmas and happy New Year. Be blessed. 🙂
Hi Olga, Did you use the recommended amount of sugar? Cutting down the sugar in this recipe can cause them to be more sticky. Thank you and I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and happy new year as well!
who is the lucky winner?:)
Hi Val, I drew the winner, Kathy, and emailed her and now am waiting to hear back 🙂
Hi Natasha I think I am the Kathy but accidentally deleted the message you sent. Can you send again
Hi Kathy, that was an older giveaway from 2016.
Hi Natasha, I am making these truffles for cookie swap at work. It’s in the fridge as we speak. Do you think it’ll be ok sitting in the fridge till Wednesday? It’s Monday night. Thank you!
Hi Ulyana, yes that will work fine :), just keep them covered with plastic wrap so they don’t get dry. A cookie swap sounds so fun!!
Hello Natasha… and Merry Christmas! These look delightful and I have everything out to start now. But I was wondering how many balls one recipe will make? I’m unsure if I need to double the recipe. As always, best wishes to you and your family during this glorious season! God bless!
This recipe makes 27 to 30 truffles. It depends on how large you roll them. I hope you have a blessed and beautiful Christmas as well!

can I make the dough on kitchen aid mixer or another blender ? I don’t have a blendtec one.
Hi Anya, yes, you can make this in a kitchen aid mixer with the paddle attachment, or in a bowl using a sturdy whisk, or pastry cutter to cut the powdered sugar into the cream cheese, finishing it up with a spatula until well blended.
I love THESE . The first time I made em was for my own birthday and all our guests loved them, and I was really proud of them hahaha. They looked so beautiful!
So glad to hear that Anna! Thank you for sharing. 🙂
